This week the contractor finished all of the sidewalk, ADA
ramps, and driveway approaches excluding Lemira Avenue. On Friday (7/14) they
began prepping the roadway for pouring early next week. The current schedule is
Tuesday morning July 18th at 6:00 A.M. there will be no vehicular
access allowed on NW Barstow St. To help reduce the overall impact to the
residents, it is the contractor’s intention to pour the entire road in 1 day,
except they will provide gaps in the pavement at both Prospect Avenue and
Bidwell Avenue so access can be maintained to homes/business East of NW
Barstow. The Contractor will begin the concrete pour at 6:00 A.M. Tuesday and
will need to be saw cutting the pavement possibly as late as midnight. We do
apologize in advance for the noise. Following the pour the concrete will need 4
days to cure before opening the road. NW Barstow will be back open to traffic
by noon July 22nd. All dates are weather dependent.
From July 11th – July 18th at 6:00
A.M. it is ok to park on NW Barstow on the West side of the road or any
adjacent side road overnight (without a parking permit, please follow any
parking restrictions). It is still ok to park on any adjacent side road
overnight (without a parking permit) until July 22nd.
The upper City Hall parking lot (off of Buena Vista Ave.) is
also available (without a parking permit) from 5:00 P.M. till 7:30 A.M. Monday
through Friday, and weekends from 5:00 P.M. Friday until 7:30 A.M. Monday until
the road is reopened to residents.
